gmail finishes uploading file to attach to email but never dialogue box goes away
Start the Give-and-take application and and so use File>Open and browse to and select the file that you want to open.

I ran into the same dialog displaying whenever I tried to open up a certificate by double clicking on information technology and it originated from me downloading it from the internet. After the dialog displays, I clicked the OK push, the certificate would display in Word in protected view mode. When I launched Give-and-take outset and then opened the document, I would not meet the dialog display and again, the certificate displayed in protected view way.. Which go me thinking that the protected view fashion sort of displays a dialog requiring y'all to make a decision on whether to ok it for editing. Overall, I remember information technology is a bug since it is abrasive, disruptive and needs to be fixed.

Do this at your ain risk only if you are only verifying what is causing the dialog to display and reset the settings back to what they were originally, you volition be fine. If you disable the settings, you exercise so at your own risk.
Click the File menu and then click "Options" on bottom left side.
The Word Options dialog will display. On the left side of dialog, click 'Trust Center'. Then click Trust Center Settings push. Trust Eye Settings dialog displays. On the left side of dialog click 'Protected View'. In the dialog, you should come across 3 checkbox settings. I unchecked the start setting for docs downloaded from internet. Closed Word and then double clicked to open up the document that was causing the error dialog from displaying and verifying information technology no longer displayed. If you got the document from an attachment from Outlook or unsafe location, you can uncheck all 3 and attempt again if unchecking the first setting but did not work out.

Another possibility is that in that location is a dialog box open simply it is located Off screen.
First try finding the dialog by minimizing other open applications individually. If that doesn't bear witness it, try clicking on OK in the message, then using using the Press and hold <ALT> press and release <SPACEBAR> printing <Chiliad> keyboard shortcut to access the motility window feature. Use your arrow keys or mouse to try and movement the dialog onscreen.
If Move does not piece of work, endeavor <ALT><SPACEBAR><Ten> to Maximize the open up dialog on screen.

Thank you for this data. In my own case the file's password protected as a 2007 discussion certificate and now when I endeavor to admission the file it indicates that a dialog box is open which I even so haven't been able to find.... I use Word 2022 now.

Go back in to what? The Word application? or the document? Did you save the certificate before endmost it? What happens when you try to "get back in"? If you are using i of the later on versions of Part, go to File>Info>Manage Versions>Recover Unsaved Documents and see if y'all tin can find the document.
